Michele fell in love with Westies when she read Mary Dennis's The West Highland White Terrier book when she was 13. She was lucky enough to get her first Westie at 18. Michele lived in the UK for 15 years and started her "Kittiroa" kennels in 1990. Now living on her little piece of paradise at Owhango in the Central North Island with Westies, horses and very long suffering cat - Claude de Pussy, she is living the dream.

I live in the very beautiful Hahei on the Coromandel Peninsula, with my husband Alistair, and our two Scotties Tilly (nearly 6) and Bridie, (nearly 5), who we got from Judy Sargent. They are a never ending source of delight and laughter.

Although now retired from corporate life, I keep very busy in various volunteer roles and in maintaining (and when I can get away with it), expanding my garden. My primary garden 'helper' is Bridie who loves to sit zen like in amongst the plants while I garden around her, when she is not chasing pesky blackbirds. Tilly prefers to keep guard on the front deck unless trying to find a place to bury windfall apples.
